Doin’ Me a Frustration!

week 5-3 (7)

Hi, it’s Moose again. I’m out here patrolin’ around the chicken coops and three of the teenagers are out and about. I’m doing my part to be sure they get lots of exercise, running back and forth on the outside of the fence so they run back and forth on the inside.

Mum says it’s a good representation of this flock ‘cuz there’s one of each of them out. I just wish I could get in there and play with them up close and personal!

week 5-3 (2)

Mum was focused on the newest little chicklets today, so go on over and check out some new pictures under the Chicken Chronicles tab, Fourth and a half flock.

Doin’ me a drool here, till next time!

Still Can’t Touch the Chickie-Babies!

DSCN3417

It’s Moose here, today. Mum still isn’t letting me get close to all those chickie-babies, but she makes the Preppinwolf let me have some face-time on the blog so he doesn’t feel so in charge all the time.

I don’t mind, really. He’s a great playmate and hates new people just as much as I do. We are all about “stranger danger” and will tell you loudly that we want you to leave. But not here on Mum’s blog…you should stay and check out the new post under the Chicken Chronicles tab, the Fourth Flock. And come back later in the week to see new pics of the Fourth and a Half Flock.

Oh, and Tucker doesn’t really bark loud at you unless he’s outside. He uses his inside voice in the house and just chuffs at you like he can’t be bothered entertaining company.

Don’t tell Mum I told you this stuff. She likes visitors here on-line and sometimes in real life. I don’t want her thinking we’re trying to sabotage anything!

Until next time….

It’s Hotter Than Satan’s House-Cat Today!

DSCN3395

Howdy, everyone. It’s me, the New Preppinwolf, Tucker here. I don’t know where y’all are from, but around here the weather today is HOT. Hotter than two hamsters farting in a wool sock. It’s so dang hot that I just saw a hound dog chasing a rabbit—and they were both walking. This heat makes me tired. If it gets any hotter, I’ll have to take off stuff I really ought to keep on. Never mind that Mum’s already trimmed and shaved all my bits and butt.

The heat wave started yesterday, so Mum had let the month-old chicks out in the run. Here’s a couple pics. I think two of ’em were still in the coop when Mum took the photos.

week 4-5 (14)week 4-5 (16)

What you don’t see is me ‘n Moosey running back and forth outside the pen puttin’ a good scare into these little crazy birds. Mum went in and had to catch them one by one and stick them in the coop so she could close it up for the night. Good timing, too, since one heck of a down-pour blowed in just a few minutes later. It didn’t last long, but the chicks didn’t come back out last night any more.

They’re allowed out again today, but Mum and our Man were mowing and weed whacking around there – well, the whole yard of course. The chicks either hadn’t come out, or they scrambled back indoors when they first heard the motors rumblin’ towards the coops.

Anyway, I don’t plan to do much more today, and only go out after dark when it hopefully cools down.

Don’t forget to check in later this week when Mum will post more pics of the two new flocks under the Chicken Chronicles tab. If you’re new to this blog, check out some of the other projects Mum has done since becoming a “hobby farmer.”

I’m gonna find me some more cool tile now. Later ‘gaters.

Mum’s a Meanie!

KIMG1314 (2)

My Mum is the meanest Mum ever! She brought home MORE chickie babies but still won’t let me play with any of them!

I can see them better ‘cuz she put them in the big house in a box that I can see down into. Oh, those little peepers are so very cute!

Go see the pictures that Mum posted under the Chicken Chronicles tab. She calls them Flock Fourth…and a Half.

No Chicks For Me

DSCN3308

Mum continues to disappoint by not letting the Moose and me play with the new chickletts. I hear them peeping in that small coop and try to pounce on the fence, but Mum yells “NO!” at my efforts. She yells at the Moose, too, since he seems even more eager than me to get our mouths on those little birdies.

Oh well. For you, Mum’s posted more pictures of the little creatures. You can find them under the Chicken Chronicles tab, Flock 4, Week 4.

Let Me See Them!

DSCN3304

Hey, Everyone. Moose-Man here. Mum’s letting me host this week’s update on the little squeaky things in the red house, but she just won’t let me in to see them! They make such adorable little noises and I really want to get to know them better. Mum doesn’t believe me when I promise not to hurt them. She sees how lovingly I carry around my (stuffed animal) “chicky-baby”. Sure there’s more white fluff on the floor than in the puppy-toy at this point, but that doesn’t mean the little squeaky chicky-babies will loose their fluff!

<Sigh> Since I have to keep out of their pen, the best I can do is let you all go look at the pics Mum posted. You can find them under the Chicken Chronicles tab, “Fourth Flock 2019”.

Leave a comment for Mum to say that I will be a good boy if she’d only let me play with any of the chickens some day!  Thanks!
